Are these real fonts?
No. There is no font file and nothing to install. Each style replaces your letters with different Unicode characters that already look bold, cursive or boxed. That is why the styling survives a copy and paste into an app that has no formatting options.
Why does my username reject the styled text?
Because usernames are identity fields. An Instagram or TikTok username, an X handle and a Facebook profile name are each checked against a short list of allowed characters, and anything outside that list is stripped or refused. Use the display name or nickname beside the handle instead, which accepts styled text on every platform we cover.
Why do I see empty boxes instead of letters?
A box means the device has no font covering that character. It is most common with the filled bubble and filled square styles on older Android phones. It can also mean the text came from a generator that emitted a codepoint Unicode never assigned. CopyFont patches every one of those gaps, so nothing here lands on an empty slot.
Can a screen reader read styled text?
It depends on the style. Styles that replace letters are announced by character name, so a bold A is read as mathematical bold capital A and a long bio becomes very hard to listen to. Styles that mark letters, such as strikethrough and underline, leave the real letters underneath and are read normally. Each style page says which it is.
Will styled text still be found by search?
Replaced styles will not. The characters are different from the ones people type, so a search for the plain word does not match them. Marked styles keep the original letters and stay searchable. Keep keywords, hashtags and names plain.
Which styles are the safest to use?
Bold, sans bold, italic, monospace, cursive, gothic, outline and small caps render reliably on every platform we test. The enclosed and filled styles are the least predictable. The combining mark styles, meaning strikethrough, underline, overline, slashed and glitch, are dependable on Discord and X and unreliable on Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp and Facebook.
Why do numbers stay plain in some styles?
Because those digits were never encoded. Italic, cursive, gothic and most of the enclosed styles cover letters only, so numbers pass through unchanged. Bold, sans bold, monospace, outline and vaporwave do have styled digits. The coverage table on each style page shows exactly what is included.
Is any of this stored or sent anywhere?
No. The conversion runs in your browser. Nothing you type leaves your device, nothing is logged and there is no account to create.
