Gothic Font Generator
Gothic here means blackletter, the dense angular lettering also called fraktur. It is produced from dedicated Unicode characters, so it pastes into bios, captions and messages without any font being installed.

Screen readers and search
This style swaps the letters for different characters, so a screen reader reads out character names instead of your word, and the text stops matching a search.
Usernames are different
Every style here works in a bio, caption, message or status. None of them work in an @username or handle: those fields are checked against a short list of plain characters and anything else is refused. That is the field rejecting the characters, not the generator failing.
How it works
The name causes confusion, so it is worth clearing up. In typography, gothic sometimes means a plain sans serif face and sometimes means blackletter. What this tool produces is blackletter, historically used for German typesetting and now associated with metal artwork, tattoos and old document styling. Unicode calls the range fraktur, and each of your letters is exchanged for a character from it.
The fraktur range is not a clean run. Five capitals were already encoded as letterlike symbols before the block existed, so those slots were left unassigned and the letters live elsewhere in the standard. A naive converter emits the unassigned codepoints and the reader gets empty boxes; this one substitutes the correct characters. Both cases convert fully. Digits do not, because no fraktur numerals exist, so numbers come back plain.
Blackletter is the hardest style on this site to read quickly. The letterforms are dense, several capitals are visually similar, and none of that is helped by the fact that the underlying letters are gone. Search inside an app will not match the text, browser find fails, and screen readers announce character names such as mathematical fraktur small a. Use it for a handle-adjacent display name, a short bio line or a Discord status, and keep anything that carries real information in plain text.
Frequently asked questions
Quick answers to what people ask us most
Is gothic the same as blackletter or fraktur?
In this context, yes. Unicode names the range fraktur, typographers often say blackletter, and most people searching for it type gothic. All three refer to the same angular lettering here.
Do numbers convert?
No. There is no fraktur digit set in Unicode, so numerals stay as ordinary figures while the letters change.
Why do a few capitals look slightly different in style?
Five of them were encoded separately as letterlike symbols long before the fraktur block was added, so they come from a different part of the standard and some fonts draw them in a slightly different weight.
Does it work on Discord?
Yes, in messages, server nicknames, statuses and the about me field. Channel names are normalised by Discord, so what you type there may not be what appears.
