Parenthesis Text Generator
This style replaces every letter with a bracketed character, so the brackets are part of the text rather than typed in by hand. It works in Instagram, TikTok, Discord, WhatsApp, X and Facebook.

Screen readers and search
This style swaps the letters for different characters, so a screen reader reads out character names instead of your word, and the text stops matching a search.
Usernames are different
Every style here works in a bio, caption, message or status. None of them work in an @username or handle: those fields are checked against a short list of plain characters and anything else is refused. That is the field rejecting the characters, not the generator failing.
How it works
Unicode contains a parenthesised form of each Latin letter, encoded decades ago for list markers and reference numbering in technical documents. The generator maps your text onto that set. Nothing is installed on either end: the characters ship with the system fonts on any current device.
Upper and lower case are handled by two separate ranges, so both work, though they were drawn at different times and can look slightly mismatched in some fonts. Digits are outside this style's scope and stay as you typed them, which means a bracketed word followed by a plain year is the expected result rather than a fault.
The bracketed characters stand in for the real letters, so a screen reader announces each one by name and the text no longer matches browser find or in-app search. Keep the searchable version of anything important in plain text. The field rule holds as well: bios, captions, comments, statuses and messages accept this style, while @usernames and handles validate against a plain-character allowlist and will reject it.
Frequently asked questions
Quick answers to what people ask us most
Why not just type brackets around each letter?
You can, and it looks similar, but it doubles or triples the character count against a bio limit. These are single characters, so each bracketed letter counts as one.
Do numbers get brackets too?
No. This style leaves digits unchanged, so numbers appear in their normal form alongside the bracketed letters.
Why do the capitals look different from the lowercase?
The two sets come from different parts of Unicode and were designed separately, so their sizes and bracket weights do not always match. That is inherent to the characters rather than something the generator can adjust.
Will this work in a Discord message?
Yes. Discord displays parenthesised letters in messages, server nicknames, statuses and the about me field.
